ENDICO, FELIX:
Felix Endico has been an organizer of bands since his college years at Lehigh University and has played with the great jazz organists, including Wild Bill Davis, Jack McDuff, and with the bandleader Erskine Hawkins. He has always been inspired by the "Harlem" stride piano style of Wille the Lion Smith, and the South Side Chicago piano styles of Jess Stacey and Earl Hines. Endico interprets his music as an arranger and is highly influenced by Fletcher Henderson, Jimmy Mundy, and Gordon Jenkins. As an organist he has been able to test his new arrangements before using them in his orchestra.
